on Christmas
(December 25) with
circus highlights
from around the world.
For the 90th season,
Circus Krone will
present its winter
performances in
its home, Circus
Kron Building,
in Munich.
From 25 December to
29 March, the Bavarian
National Circus will
present three different
international programs
on a monthly basis.
The first program
begins traditionally
on the first Christmas day
and runs until 31 January.
|
44 artists, animal trainers and clowns from 10 nations rendezvous at the Circus
Krone Building and invite you to a Grand Revue of international circus artistry
with the "best of the best " from all over the world. A sparkling holiday concert
awaits you in fulfillment of the promise of a "symphony of the circus artistry"
laden with attractions and sensations. Experience the fascination of beautiful
animals, the perfection of Chinese acrobats, the temperament of western artists,
the poetry of marvelous clowns and the drama of a spectacular aerial sensation.
World class circus in a symbiosis of the classical period and modern trend.
90 years Circus Krone Munich. A proud anniversary that gives cause for
celebrating. A circus building built nine decades ago has become a landmark
in the Bavarian State capital. Carl Krone built it during the soviet unrests of
1918/19. It has been since twice completely renovated. Roughly 50 million
enthusiastic spectators have witnessed some 270 world class circus
programs, presented by spectacular performers who embody Circus
Krone's high standard of excellence.
There are circuses - and there is Circus Krone.
Celebrate with us - the fascinating world of an extraordinary circus!
"We strive to make your visit an enjoyable and exciting experience
in the fascinating world of Europe's largest circus."

OVERTURE
(Germany, Poland, Hungary)
|
 |
The Spectacular Krone Orchestra
The Spectacular Circus Krone Orchestra, under the baton
of band leader, Markus Jaichner provides the outstanding
musical accompaniment.
 |
NIKOLAI TOVARICH
(Great Britain)
|
 |

Nikolai Tovarich has this winter also
assumed the task of making public announcements
and the duties as ringmaster. He announces the
various performances and offers other information
to ensure smooth operational sequence.
 |
JOHNNY FISCHER
(Germany / newly arranged for Munich)
|
 |
| A Noah's Ark allows itself the honor |
|
 |
He amuses with a potpourri of
animals: many animals, many
kinds, all at breathtaking tempo
- with much humor. A large star
parade of 15 domestic animals
from various German regions:
donkey, cats, dogs and
chickens depict rural life as
beautifully as it can be.
The artists climb, jump and
balance all in a convincing
manner. The highlight of the
performance is a
representation of the famous
"Bremer Stadtmusikanten"
- animals who by nature are
at odds with each other, but
here put their differences
aside and cooperate peacefully
in an truly artistic effort.

TROUPE FU ZHOU
(China / first time in Munich)
|
 |
| Swirling Meteor-Fascination |
|
Attired in modern costumes,
they present a traditional Chinese act.
Contrary to the spirit of the time, the 12 colorfully
attired young artists, the "Meteors", twirl ropes with
plates as weights at the ends, defying time and
space, pleasing the spectators in a celebration of
speed, strength and courage.
In sparkling clusters the flying objects dance
through the air and land in the hands of the artists
as if guided by rubber bands.
Whether they stand or walk, lie or balance on the
shoulders of their partners, perform somersaults
and vaults or build human pyramids, all is done
with ease and precision.
|
 |
Their performances are void of any miscues.
 |
AZZARIO SISTERS
(Spain / first time in Munich)
|
 |
| Two Bodies - One Artistic Masterpiece |
|
They impress with their performance
requiring circus artistry while utilizing
their feminine strength.
The Sisters Azzario present, for
female artists, a rather unusual
circus number: The head to head
acrobatic skills. Adeptly they use
their amazing strength and agility
to balance themselves and even
- easily like a feather, ascend a
ladder with a woman on the head
of another who is in a one arm
hand stand. No indication here of
a "weaker" sex. The two sisters
Katie and Quincy Azzario are
19 and 15 years old and have
circus blood in their veins.
Their parents are the famous
Mitchels clowns, who are
experiencing a fourth
generation of circus performers.

CESAR DIAS
(Portugal / first time in Munich)
|
 |
| Extraordinary Imagination |
|
 |
There is much
to laugh at as
this young
comedian from
Portugal takes
center stage.
He brilliantly
combines
subtle comedy
and classical
clown artistry.
More of a
prankster
than a clown,
he entertains
with his
intriguing mine
act with musical
accompaniment.

 |
JOHNNY FISCHER
(Germany / first time in Munich)
|
 |
| The somewhat different elephant dressage |
|
He presents elephants in a completely different manner. The sophisticated
pachyderms are full of surprises and can do so much more than their
"natural" cousins. With true enthusiasm, they traverse across the ring,
ascend pedestals, step over humans and play hula hoop with their trunks.
The three babyfants are genuine attractions and follow - with suspended belief -
their trainer on the flirts word or at least on the second. Surprising "animal" training
ideas provide astonishment for children of ages 5 to 105. Would you like to bet these
cuddly jumbo jets become the secret superstars of the Krone Show ? Born to be wild!
 |
JANA MANDANA
(Germany / newly arranged for Munich)
|
 |
| Stallion Parade in Black and White |
|
She entertains with a potpourri of fiery full blood Arabs and splendid Friesian stallions in
superbly presented interrelation. The proud animals react to subtle gestures and entertain
in a black-white composition of dressage and dance, breed and class. They turn and swirl,
projecting a seductive air of romance and adventure as skillfully and high spirited as no
other horses can emulate. Artfully, they create a hippolog mosaic with vibrancy and
conquer the manège in an intoxicating mirage of colors, forms and fantasies.
 |
CESAR DIAS
(Portugal / first time in Munich)
|
 |
 |
His
composition
of comedy,
music,
slapstick
and mime
him a unique
personality
in the search
for fun and
frivolity.
|
 |
WHITE BIRDS
(Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan / first time in Munich)
|
 |
| A breathtaking show on the flying trapeze |
|
They make the dream of flying become a reality.
Look high up to the dizzy heights
of the circus dome. A whirlwind of
majestic, soaring beauty as seven
birds in human form take to the
skies high above the circus ring.
Relieved of all gravity, they
capture the highest heights and
present a spectacular aerial ballet,
performing breathtaking leaps,
pirouettes, - and naturally the
legendary triple "salto mortale".
More is physically not possible
for humans to perform. Hold
your head high for a unique,
spectacular star attraction.

 |
CHRISTIAN WALLISER
(Germany / first time in Munich)
|
 |
| King Tigers in a harmonious wilderness |
|
Living life dangerously. The smart newcomer among the predatory animal trainers
consciously seeks close proximity to his animals and presents the charismatic king tigers
up close and personal. His cats perform impressive jumps over their "paw colleagues",
sit up, lie down - and naturally allow Christian to ride on his favorite tiger.
 |
The 26 year old tiger trainer
from Augsburg is a trained
zoo animal care giver and
discovered through working
with horses and exotic
animals his love of
predatory cats.
For over one year he has
now worked with the
mighty cats projecting an
attitude of respect and of
being the "best friend".
|
 |
VERONIKA
(Russia / first time in Munich)
|
 |
| Bringing Dance to a Higher Level |
|
She floats high above, held only by straps and draws poetic figures into the
circus heaven. With absolute harmony of movements, she creates living
pictures of fascinating intensity. Apparently weightless, she flies past the
heads of the public performing turns and twists, falling and rising at will.
 |
JOSÉ-MITCHELS-TRIO
(Spain, England / newly arranged for Munich)
|
 |
Laugh orgy by water orgy
A wet, merry happening for all senses |
|
These clowns will certainly give your diaphragm a thorough work-out.
Well-trained laugh muscles are required as you enjoy this wet, merry comedy in the circus ring.
Meals and beverages are not included as was otherwise promised, but however with the
water salvos and "coincidental" showers no eye remains dry. With their legendary water
entree, the three musical clowns are among the most in demand of fun makers in Europe.
The two brothers Jost and Kike Mitchels team up together with Jose's wife Giulia twice
daily lending credence to the adage: "who laughs last, laughs best".
 |
JANA MANDANA
(Germany / newly arranged for Munich)
|
 |
She entertains with the powerful heraldic animals of the house Krone. A spectacular
presentation of animal elemental power are the appearances of the Indian elephant ladies
BARA, MALA and DEHLI. With apparent ease, they master difficult tricks with sensitive
elephant precision and entertain the audience in a fantastically beautiful manège act.
They tease the spectators with their Rubenesque figures and show in a choreography
of strength and elegance their total range of talent. An impressive trio, with temperament
and trunk fill the manège with their physical presence and life as they develop a
harmonious relationship between humans and animal. Under the guidance of their
animal trainer they court the manège's approval with their ability to sway, dance, stand
and lay themselves down.
 |
TESLENKO-TROUPE
(Russia / first time in Munich)
|
 |
| Virtuoso Juggling Group Performances - in split second timing |
|
They demonstrate astounding juggling artistry at blinding speed. With virtuoso speed
they let tires, swing clubs, whirl rings and tires dance, as if there was nothing easier
to do. Individual tricks change with temperamental group juggling. Occasionally,
they whirl over 20 clubs and rings through the manège - at incredible speed.
The incomparable
highlight of the show
is the cascade of
clubs and the
exciting race
against the clock
utilizing tires as
balance objects,
all ending in a
suspenseful
climax.
It's show time for a
grandious potpourri
of nimble finger
artistry, performed
by Victor, Dimitri,
Anatoli und Elena
Teslenko.
