In addition, 1.5 million Euros are paid the form of taxes and social services. The transportation costs total more than 500.000 per year. Operational costs per day total a little less than 24.000 a day! ![]() Earlier, the Bundesbahn used two special trains with a length of 1,2 km to transport Circus Krone during the seven months tour guest city performances. The transportation costs of the Bundesbahn is considerably more than 500.000 Euro per season. 110 vehicles and trailer homes must be driven from city to city. Per season, that is about 4.500 km ! In 10 years that would amount to one time around the globe ! Today, Circus Krone is "independent of the train system and only travels per vehicle. The bahn became a source for delays, became too unreliable, too inflexible and too expensive. 19 tractors with 21 drivers and mechanics provide the "mobile life of Circus Krone" and for the "just-in-time" transport of the gigantic tent city. All these capital investments were amortized within three years. To Krone's enormous tent city belong, at present, nearly 400 humans, more than 250 Animals, 330 trailer homes, luggage and equipment transport vehicles and a performance tent with 5.000 (!) seats. There are comfortable stalls, a generator set, which generates 400 KW of energy, a circus school, an operating fire-brigade, a crew kitchen on wheels, office and workshops of all types. Area requirement of the largest traveling circus city in Europe: 30.000 m2.
