Our Animals - Lions - King Tonga - Frankfurt LionsNew Acquisition by the German Champions "Frankfurt Lions"A not so serious story from the kingdom of Circus Krone. A collegial visit of the special kind was made by the white lion KING TONGA of Circus Krone to the Eishockey-Club "Frankfurt Lions" on Thursday, midday (21.October, 2004). Together with Martin Lacey jr., the now 23 month old and 200 kg heavy young animal inspired the ice sport hall and posed with some of the players at the edge of the ice rink. that is, the opponents were not pleased - the deserved respect from a distance. After all, KING TONGA'S 200 kilograms makes for a "formidable opponent", jokes defense player Peter Ratchuk, laughing in the background.
Markus Jocher and Boris Acker greet the spectacular white lions more closely.  A new acquisition with bite!  No artist, pardon to the Eishockey-Cracks, works without a salary. 6-8 kg of the finest beef are offered as a reward. Raw meat is preferred. The colleagues swallow with amazement.  "Tonga is not a new acquisition intended as a co-trainer with the Lions", jokes Manager Lance Nethery, he is intended to be the new superstar of Circus Krone. Only 37 white lions are known to exist. Certainly KING TONGA is the only lion who performs in a circus.
Kölner Haie, the lions were victorious on Friday evening by the score of 4:3. "Mascot" King Tonga was the one who brought the team luck.
